The outfielder has had an injury-marred few years, but a 2024 debut could still be within reach after wrist surgery There are some ifs with Veen’s profile
Zac Veen was born in Port Orange, Florida, on December 12, 2001. He played high school baseball at Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, FL. He was the top-ranked outfielder and the top-ranked overall player in Florida.
Who made it out on top? In the process of Purple Row Prospects (PuRPs) voting, there were two names that stood above the rest: Colorado’s 2020 first rounder, outfielder Zac Veen, and the breakout player of the minor league system this year, Dominican shortstop Adael Amador.
The Rockies don't have to add Veen to their 40-man roster until after the 2024 season, but they’d presumably be happy to get a look at him before then if he mashes in the upper minors to start the year.
Strike 1: Two weeks into Spring Training and the Hype Train is already going full steam ahead for Colorado Rockies prospect Zac Veen. “Call him up now” posts are all over social media.
