2016 First-Team All-Pro defensive tackle Damon Harrison didn't remain available for long.
Roughly 48 hours after the Seattle Seahawks waived the 32-year-old affectionately known as "Snacks," ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported that the Green Bay Packers claimed Harrison.
On Monday, Harrison tweeted that he did not want to join a different employer via waivers but also admitted that he'd be willing to make the move to the Packers since they currently sit atop the overall NFC standings and have uncrowned Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers leading the team into the playoffs.
Green Bay would secure the conference's top seed and a postseason bye with a win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Harrison should, however, clear the league's COVID-19 protocols by the second weekend of January if the Packers have to play a wild-card game.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll made Harrison a healthy scratch for last Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams and then told 710 ESPN Seattle on Monday he believed the veteran was finished playing for the campaign.
"He's decided to stop playing," Carroll said at that time. "He's done playing. I talked to him this morning. He's in good spirits and all of that. He's really grateful for the opportunity in playing here and he did really well by us, but he just ... he's done."
Harrison, meanwhile, tweeted that he wished to be more than a mere spectator at this stage of his career:
I just want to play...period. Don’t care about stats, snaps, etc. I’m a football player and I just want to play. There’s no bad blood at all. I understand the business side. https://t.co/mUCAio0GAH

Before I sit around and try to take snaps from a young guy who deserves to be out there playing I’d rather leave. There’s a lot of snakes in the NFL but I’m not one of them..

Harrison tallied nine tackles and a forced fumble during his brief tenure with Seattle.
