It has been a tough week. On Wednesday the Angels failed to score, and that Gavin Williams guy in Cleveland was actually pretty good. We didn't even get the chance to earn some back with Atlanta because their game was postponed. Ughh!
Now that the NBA Draft is over we are going to be even that more focused on MLB moving forward so I am going to have to pick up the slack. Speaking of the draft. Cam Whitmore is +5000 to be Rookie of the Year. That number is only going to drop if you want to take a flyer right now.
Back to the diamond, we have a full slate today. Thanks to Cincinnati's surge, their series with the Braves is suddenly relevant, and the Astros vs. the Dodgers is interesting too. Plus you have Sox vs Sox.
Let's go pick some winners.

Favorite
Minnesota Twins -135 (at Detroit Tigers)
The AL Central is a mess. Minnesota is still on top though and a visit to Detroit is still a favorable journey. Kenta Maeda has been a disaster this season with an ERA of 9.00 but Joey Wentz of the Tigers is not much better. If this game is going to come down to who hits more, the Twins have a major advantage. They are eighth in homers and solid in the bullpen. The premium, even on the road, seems fair.
Underdog
Houston Astros +125 (at Los Angeles Dodgers)
The teams have about the same record and both have work to do if they want to get to the top of their respective divisions. Tonight, both are starting rookie pitchers and I would have handicapped it as close to a pick'em. With the Dodgers being decided favorites this game caught my eye. Houston has the better bullpen this season and even without slugger Yordan Alvarez a dangerous lineup from top to bottom.
Prop
Texas Rangers Over 4.5 Runs +100
Texas is at New York tonight and they are slight underdogs. I almost picked them above. Nevertheless, I think they will be able to get to Clarke Schmidt, who has an ERA of 4.30 at home this season. Texas is the top-scoring team in the majors and they are pretty balanced this season. Their games are going over the total more often than not and they are leading that action.
