Report: Falcons set to have four primetime games in 2024

Over the last few seasons, the Falcons have been among the most boring franchises in the National Football League. They’ve been incredibly mediocre, winning seven games in each of the last three seasons, and featured very few intriguing storylines. It’s no wonder the NFL turned away from them when considering primetime slots, but that’s changed entering the 2024 campaign.

Not only are the Falcons expected to win the NFC South with Kirk Cousins under center, but the decision to draft Michael Penix Jr. just a mere weeks after paying Cousins $180 million is now a national storyline. That’s not going to change anytime soon, and the NFL has decided to soak it up early in the season.

The schedule release is set for later today, but leaks have been coming in by the hour, and Zach Klein has recently provided us with the Falcons primetime matchups this season. There are four of them, with three coming in the first five weeks.

The last time the Atlanta Falcons had a MNF Game was in October of 2020 at Green Bay during COVID
In 2024.. they are expected to have following in primetime:
Week 2 at Philly – MNF
Week 3 vs KC – Sunday Night
Week 5 vs Tampa – Thursday Night
December 16th – at Las Vegas – MNF

If you think this is a coincidence, you need to stop being so naive. The devil works hard, but the people behind the scenes in the National Football League offices work harder. They thrive off storylines, and there could be something brewing in Atlanta early in the season.

Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot can sit at the podium all they want and deny that there is any quarterback controversy. That may be true, but it won’t stop questions from coming or narratives being written. They brought this on themselves, and the league is taking full advantage, putting their toughest tests right at the very beginning of the schedule.

Win, and the Falcons can put all of the noise to bed. Lose, and it won’t take five weeks for Michael Penix Jr. to be at the forefront of conversations.

The NFL basically said, “You believe in Kirk Cousins? Well, prove it.”

We could find out just how much the Falcons believe in the veteran quarterback very early in the season.
